Outstanding Services rendering to the industries in UT of Daman, DIA has made a significant place in the union Territory since its inception in the year 1982.

Daman is a Coastal Town bound on west by the Arabian Sea and Surrounded on all other sides by the territory of Gujarat. Daman is 193km from Mumbai, on the western side of National Highway no. 8 Vapi, about 12kms. from Daman, is the Main Rail Head. the total area of Daman District is 72sq. kms. with a coastline about 12kms long. Only 91.95 hectares of land is under forest cover which us about 1.28% of total Geographical Area.

Daman is One of the two districts of the union territory, which is located on the Indian west coast. the place is bordered by a variety of topographical features. the district of Valsad in Gujarat state lies towards the east, the well-known river called Bhagwan flows towards the north, the Arabian Sea is located towards the west and River Kalem flows towards the south.

The Major River of the Region Damanganga Divides the Daman district into two Separate parts. As many as three rivers provide water to the District. All these rivers flow towards the west direction. The river Bhagwan runs along the northern border of the district, the river kalem runs along the southern border and the river Damanganga runs in between the other two rivers.

History of industrial development of the UT is typical, started with couple of industries in 1970, it got now prominent place in the industrial map of the country. Today, it houses morethan three thousand five hundered micro, small, medium and large industries. Daman manufacturing sectors caters Electrical Equipment's - 33.2%, plastic products - 18.3%, Pharmaceuticals - 13%, Chemicals Products -9.0%, Wearing Apparels - 4.9%, Computers, Electronics & Optical Products, Machinery & Equipments and Beverages - 4.4%, Basic Metals - 2.8%, Paper & Paper Products - 2.7% Other Manufacturing - 8.9%.

The UT Contributes 5350+ Crores revenu every year by way of central excise, service tax. income tax and VAT and now as GST. There are employment oppurtunities to 2.35 lakhs plus people - locals as well migrated from almost all parts of the country. In Daman, we have more than 100 category - A Hotels and available Rooms are more than 5000 which promotes tourism industry as Fastest growing industries in the country in such a tinset but most beautiful town like Daman consisting of only 72sq. Kilometers area.
